Costa Rica's Caribbean coast is a world apart from the rest of the country. The pace is slower, the food is spicier, the tropical heat is more palpable, and the rhythmic lilt of patois and reggae music fills the air.
In other words, this was exactly our kind of 'off the beaten path' getaway.
Here are a few shots for your viewing pleasure:
Gorgeous place, isn't it? I sure hope you'll consider this part of Central America for your next getaway.
There's so much to do (hiking, surfing, ziplining, ATV'ing, bicycling, fishing, snorkeling & swimming for starters), the people are just lovely, the beaches gorgeous, the jungle lush, the wildlife plentiful and the food amazing.
Speaking of food, next up, a post about dining in Playa Chiquita. Delicioso-ness!
But before I go, I want to show you what I did on my 30ish birthday in CR:
Yup, that's me ziplining in the Costa Rican jungle. It was quite the exhilarating experience and I had that big goofy grin plastered on my face all day long. I kept on thinking - shiite, I'm ziplining, in the jungle, in Costa Rica.
most. memorable. birthday. ever.
Happy Thursday friends!
Dajana :)
looks like a heavenly vacation, dajana.

It's the kind of place you can't help but fall in love with Amanda.
ReplyDeleteAnd grazie for the birthday wishes. Hope your 30ish is lovely too! :)
Wow that looks like such a beautiful place! I went to South America for the first time this year and promptly fell in love with the scenic lush beauty. But Central America is closer! Happy Belated Bday! What a wonderful way to commemorate it!
ReplyDeleteHi Jess! Happy Belated Bday to you as well! I like that we’re both Aries ladies.
ReplyDeleteCR was a super place to visit and we would definitely go back to see more of the country. The sun felt so good on my winter white skin! When we left our city, there was still 3 feet of snow on the ground so we desperately needed the respite. What countries did you visit in South America? I’m guessing from one of your posts your trip included a stop in Brazil. You must have had such a lovely time.
Thanks so much for stopping by! I love me some stylish and smart visitors. :)
Great pictures! My fav is the one with the two bikes leaning against the tree. :)
ReplyDeleteMarlena.
Hvala Mar! I really like that picture too.
ReplyDeleteThere's something about riding a bike that makes me feel like such a little kid again. Can't wait for summer to come and get here already. :)

ReplyDeletep.s. Hope to see pics of your anthro outfits on your blog!
The beach with crystal clear water and hints of coral reefs beneath its surface calls my name. :-)
ReplyDeleteIsn't it lovely P? It's what dreams are made of.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures! We went to Costa Rica last year and loved it! We also stayed on the Caribbean side. Looking at your pictures makes me smile, remembering the awesome vacation we had:) Zip lining was one of my favorite things! Unbelievable, right? What an awesome birthday!
