anthropologie: slung slash tee

Slung Slash Tee

Blazer: H&M
Jeans: Old Navy
Boots: My go-to pair from Feet First
Earrings: Banana Republic hoops

My casual Friday look during the winter usually consists of a blazer, shirt, skinny jeans or a dress and boots. Not terribly exciting I'm afraid, but it works and I feel comfortably chic. I especially like the look of the coquettish Slung Slash Tee peeking from beneath a cardigan or in yesterday's case, a plaid equestrian'ish blazer from H&M. I am so happy I purchased this versatile shirt - I like that it looks just as good tucked into a pencil skirt as it does worn with denim. I'm not sure it'd be as work appropriate sans blazer (the lovely neckline is a wee bit low cut) but once 5 p.m. rolls around, look out! (;

Does your workplace have casual Fridays? What does your "uniform" consist of?

Have a super weekend, y'all! I hope it's filled with heaps of fun and relaxation. I'm looking forward to doing some shopping with my mom and niece and watching my hubby play hockey. On Sunday, I have my last indoor soccer practice of the season. Once the snow melts (soon I hope!), our outdoor season starts. Yay!

  2. Everyday was casual day at my office! It was nice to be able to dress however, dress up or dress down depending on my mood. You look lovely as usual! I love how that top creates interest underneath the blazer with that funky cut out!

    p.s. You're actually going to a hockey game? You're making us other wifeys look bad... I've been to ONE. ever. haha.

    Happy weekend, friend!

    1. "Dressing for your mood" is the perfect workplace dress code.

      Yup, I'm going to the boys' semi-final game. Scotty is so supportive of my soccer "career" (ha!) that I want to show him the same kind of love and support. He deserves to have his own mini cheering section, too. (:

    1. Thanks, Bonnie! I feel the exact same way about the Bianka blouse when I see you wearing it so well. Y'know, I can take it off your hands if you ever get tired of it. (;

    1. Me too, Sarah. I just purchased two more blazers from H&M - a bright pink and a navy. (: I love how they instantly modernize an outfit.

      p.s. You live in Montreal, right? Simons is opening it's first store outside of Quebec in our city this summer - do you ever shop there? Is it worth checking out?

  7. I love that top and what a great jacket!

    My office doesn't have casual Friday but is already fairly casual as it is a college campus where there are not explicit dress codes. On days when I don't teach I wear cords and tops with drapey sweaters or day dresses.

    1. Thanks, Jess! The H&M jacket was a great buy at $35.

      It sounds like we have similar office dress codes. I also work for an educational organization. During the summer, when school is out, every day is casual Friday. Day dresses & sandals are my fav!
